Injuries Hit Knicks, Mavericks, Sixers

The New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, and Philadelphia 76ers all suffered injuries in their games on Friday night.

Knicks' Jalen Brunson Limps Off With Ankle Injury

Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson suffered an ankle injury in the final seconds of their loss to the Boston Celtics. He twisted his ankle after accidentally stepping on Celtics guard Payton Pritchard's foot.

There has been no word yet on the severity of the injury, but Brunson is expected to be listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Toronto Raptors.

Mavericks' Kyrie Irving Leaves With Foot Injury

Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving left in the second quarter of their game against the Portland Trail Blazers with a foot injury. He was fouled on a drive to the basket and his teammate Dwight Powell fell on his right foot.

Irving was able to get to his feet and shoot a pair of free throws, but he then checked out of the game and headed for the locker room.

Irving is expected to miss Monday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

76ers' Joel Embiid Escapes Serious Knee Injury

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid fell awkwardly and clutched his knee in pain in their game against the Atlanta Hawks. But he remained in the game and helped the Sixers to a victory.

Embiid downplayed the severity of the injury, saying he just twisted his knee. He finished with 38 points, 14 rebounds, and five assists in the game.
