Draymond Green's controversial 'chicken claw' steals the show in epic Lakers-Warriors showdown

Draymond Green sparks controversy with another foul in Lakers-Warriors game

The epic double-overtime battle between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors and the scoring duel between LeBron James and Stephen Curry has been the talk of the town. But, among all the highlights, a controversial move by Draymond Green caught the attention of NBA veterans and fans alike.

Green, who was suspended for unintentionally slapping Jusuf Nurkic just a few games back, is back in the spotlight for fouling Anthony Davis. In the final minutes of a tense game, Green attempted to wrestle the ball from Davis and was struck in the face by the opposing centre.

The ever-competitive Jarred Vanderbilt attempted to review the call as a flagrant foul, but Green responded with a mocking parody that drew laughter from Gilbert Arenas and his teammates. Arenas and his team viewed the call, which was not a flagrant foul, as a major escape for Green, and Kenyon Martin even mimicked Green's imagined trash-talking of Vanderbilt: "This n****[Vanderbilt] asked for a review... 'Shut up. You're trying to get me banned again.'

Notably, Green has made no secret of his aggressive style of play, having taken a similar swipe at LeBron James' face on "Gil's Rodeo." That incident, coupled with his previous ejection and suspension, sparked concerns about Green's ability to control his emotions.

Despite the controversy, Green's return certainly gives the Warriors a much-needed boost. A team in desperate need of defensive prowess relies heavily on Green's leadership and grit. While the Warriors' overall record (19-24) is less than stellar, their recent close wins over opponents like the Lakers and Kings have highlighted Green's impact. His +/- value against the Lakers is a testament to his all-around contribution.

However, the Warriors' playoff hopes hinge on Green's ability to stay disciplined and avoid unnecessary entanglements. The team needs him on the floor, not facing a suspension or fine. As the season progresses, Green must find a balance between his fiery passion and his responsibility to the team's success.
