Using Maps to Earn Gil in FFXIV

There are various methods available in FFXIV for players looking to generate Gil, with certain approaches providing more efficient gains than others if time-intensive farming isn't an option.

Treasure Maps offer an effective and efficient method to gain FFXIV Gil in Final Fantasy XIV. In this article we will demonstrate how they can help level up crafter and gatherer jobs quickly.

Treasure Maps

Treasure Maps can be an effective way of quickly earning Gil. Although a bit risky, they can yield great profits if they lead you into one of the rare dungeons; such dungeons could contain valuable items like minions, furniture or crafting materials which could then be sold for significant sums on the Market Board.

Players can acquire one Treasure Map every 18 hours by mining or botanizing nodes, purchasing it from Khloe Aliapoh in Idyllshire for 100 Gold or through trading them to Khloe. Dungeons

After playing WoW for so many years, one thing that struck me about FFXIV was how much its core gameplay featured small Gil sinks that are part of its economy - flight costs, repairs, Materia melding costs all cost money, but these expenses tend to be far cheaper than they would be on an income of gold.

FATES and The Challenge Log, open world level-synced questing content which rewards Company Seals, experience and Gil. While these won't make you wealthy overnight, they will help keep up with expenses and save for bigger goals.

Dungeons offer another method for players to earn Gil. Players can either form groups to run them and reap their rewards, or queue individually; wait times vary by realm; tanks and healers typically experience shorter waits than dps players, though both groups might drop out before you're up next in line for one! Hopefully, someone might drop out before your turn so that you can step into their role at some point during a dungeon run; in which case someone may drop at its conclusion and allow you to join in.

Retainer Ventures

Retainer Ventures provide an effective alternative to grinding through Dungeons for players without enough time or energy to do so, providing regular experience, company seals and Gil rewards in a weekly expedition-like fashion.

Before embarking on any Venture, players must first possess a Retainer of level 50 or above and obtain Venture currency through either completing Leve objectives, Beast Tribe quests or purchasing Grand Company Seals from your Grand Company Vendor.
